Home Insurance

A variety of coverages are available to insure your home and contents.

Comprehensive coverage provides "All risks" on both your dwelling and the contents.
Broad form coverage provides "All risks" on your dwelling and "Named Perils" on your contents.
Standard coverage provides "Named Perils" on both your dwelling and the contents.

All risks coverage is most easily defined as being insured against all risks of direct physical loss or damage to the property described, except named exclusions listed in the policy wording. Typically these exclusions include, but are not limited to, damage caused by: wear and tear, faulty workmanship, nuclear incident, radioactive material, war, your criminal acts, etc.

Named Perils coverage can be defined as being insured against direct loss or damage to the property described, by perils listed and subject to exclusions. Typically these insured perils include, but are not limited to: fire or lightning; explosion; smoke; falling object; impact by aircraft, spacecraft or land vehicle; vandalism or malicious acts, water escape, rupture, freezing; windstorm or hail; breakage of glass; theft, including damage caused by attempted theft; weight of ice, snow or sleet; collapse of a building or any part thereof; etc.

In addition, many home policies provide additional coverage on your outbuildings, additional living expenses if you must find alternative living quarter in the event of an insured loss, food freezer coverage, fire department charges, theft of credit and debit cards, plus many more.

We can also insure your cottage, condominium, tenant package, jewelry, furs, fine art, sports equipment, boats, personal watercraft and more.
